What is God’s purpose for the Tribulation?

It’s a crazy question, right? For almost fifty years people have been interested in the subject of the Tribulation. It seems like everyone wants to know who the antichrist will be or what exactly is the mark of the beast or debate whether the Rapture will happen before or sometime during the seven years. I’ve been a Christian for 49 years and I can tell you I have heard it all. To me, this subject is like trying to tell how big a forest is by looking at every leaf on every branch on every tree. Sometimes, it’s better to just step back and see the big picture and then you can discern the details better. Of course, anyone can…

Imagining the Kingdom, a question of population…

Last time, we looked at some pretty unbelievable numbers about the coming kingdom and the population of people that will most likely enter it from the Tribulation. Before we begin, let’s summarize some things about the looming Tribulation and the coming kingdom of Jesus Christ. Based on the assumption that the Rapture will happen before the signing of the peace treaty with Israel, the days following will show that for the first time in human history, there will be no Christians on the planet. That’s right, the Tribulation will start will all unbelievers occupying Earth. Of course, that will not last long. It is also interesting to note that the first days of the kingdom will see a period of…

When the Kingdom Comes…Population of planet earth after the Tribulation

In the last blog, I left off with Abraham, but I would like to come back to him later. I have not posted anything for the last two months as I have been wrapping up the details on my book, “When the Kingdom Comes, What Christians Will be Doing for One Thousand Years.” The book is now in print. For the next couple of months, I will give some insight into the book in the hopes that those of you reading this might be interested in getting a copy to look over. Before I begin, I would like to lay some biblical beliefs about the future as revealed in Scripture. Most all Christians are looking forward to the sudden…

Teach Your Children Well

It is most every parent’s dream, if not a goal, to pass their values and beliefs on to their children. Sadly, in these perilous times, we are seeing a breakdown in transmitting values and beliefs. Today, we find many younger people jettisoning their parent’s values to follow their own beliefs. In many cases, this is a rejection of their parent’s faith as well. Faith also encompass God’s standards for family, marriage and government as well as a host of other precepts and principles that help to stabilize society for its health and wellbeing. Even a look into history will show that families don’t tend to hold traditions and values for too many generations without some serious breakdown. In fact, it…

How Did God Vote in the Great Election?

Figuring out how to vote when election time comes around causes many Christians a great anxiety. It can be so hard to decide amongst the candidates who would make the best person for a particular political office or government job. As Christians, there are certain standards many of us would like to see people in politics follow. It’s not outrageous to expect a candidate to be a person of moral character. In addition, many of us would like to see someone who represents fiscal responsibility. Furthermore, many of us want that candidate to uphold many of the same values as we do, such as belief in family and sanctity of life. Others of us might hold to the importance of…

A Contract with God?

Have you ever signed a contract in which you weren’t sure of the fine print? Most all of us have entered into contracts of one sort or another. While most of us seem to understand what we are agreeing to, there still might be some lingering doubt unless we have read the whole document through. I wonder how many of us have read all the fine print about our credit cards? Have you sat down and read all the fine print on your car loan? How many of you click the “I agree to all the terms” button without reading all the terms? (I’m guilty) Life is full of legal documents and agreements from phone contracts to lawn care providers…

To Be Clean or Not to Be Clean, that is the Question!

There are many stories about Jesus in the Bible, but none gives me such an opportunity to pause and reflect as the incident of the washing of the disciple’s feet found in chapter 13 of the gospel of John. Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments, and took a towel, and girded himself. After that he poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded. Then cometh he to Simon Peter; and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash…
